Regional Director Welcome

It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to Avonbourne Academies, a thriving school in the heart of Dorset.

Avonbourne Academies serves a broad community with students coming from across the town of Bournemouth. As a member of United Learning, the schools work to bring out the ‘Best In Everyone’ with the aim to help every student realise their aspirations through providing an excellent standard of education, underpinned by a culture of high expectations and standards. 

My name is Ben Antell, and I am the United Learning Regional Director for Avonbourne. This is a role I am hugely honoured to hold and allows me to work extensively with Mr Ingram and all members of the senior leadership team and wider staff at the Academies. 

As a local Bournemouth resident and former Principal at Glenmoor & Winton Academies I hope my support at Avonbourne allows the drive for exceptional standards to be maintained. I am acutely aware of the part Avonbourne should and will play in the local and wider community and I urge anyone interested in joining the Academies to turn up un-announced and ask for a tour of the schools. Trust and school leaders recognise the improvements made at the Academies over the past year and are determined this will continue. I plan to spend as much time at the Academies as I can to support Mr Ingram in achieving our ambitious goals for the schools. 

I hope this provides you with a brief glimpse into the ambition I and everyone else connected to Avonbourne has. We won't get everything right and it is important you tell us when we don't. Equally we won't stop trying to provide the very best education to every student and young adult who attends Avonbourne.
