For students starting at Avonbourne Academies in September 2025

Year 7 first day is on Friday 5th September 2025. Students need to be ready for their line up at 8:30 am and arrive at our Basketball Courts which is left of our Visitors Reception. We can't wait to see you!

Please see below the letter sent to parents/carers on Tuesday 20^th May 2025. As per the letter, Mrs Dadson will be handing out transition 'All About Me Booklets' during her visits to primary schools after May half term. We ask students to complete these booklets and bring with them on transition day to help their new tutors get to know them a little better in preparation for September.

Please wait for your son/daughter to bring one home however if this happens to get 'lost' at the bottom of a school bag or you live outside the BCP area please find a copy below. A paper copy can also be collected from our Avonbourne Academy receptions.

If your son has joined Avonbourne after the Transtion Day in June, we will pass him a copy of this booklet on his first day in September.

Welcome to our new Class of 2032 cohort who will be joining us in September 2025. Below is the letter parents would have received via email if offered a place with us for their son/daughter to join Year 7 in September 2025.

All parents offered a place at Avonbourne were sent an email from Applicaa on Monday 10th March with login details to complete our online data form. Please ensure this is completed by Friday 25th April 2025.

Please see below  for our Class of 2032 Parent Information Booklet which you can find on your Applicaa data collection form. We hope this answers some of the questions you may have regarding your son/daughter (delete as appropriate) transition to our secondary school.

We know lots of parents (and students) will begin getting everything together over the next few months ready for September.

Before purchasing any items (including school shoes, school bag and equipment) please refer to our detailed Uniform Policy as although some items may be advertised as 'Back to School' they may not be acceptable at Avonbourne Academy.

Students are required to bring a 30cm clear pencil case with them each day with the following items:

Compulsory Items:

• 30 cm long, clear plastic pencil case
• Helix Maths Set (or Compass and Protractor)
• 30 cm ruler
• Translucent reading ruler
• Casio FX-83GTX calculator
• 3 x blue or black pens
• 1 x HB pencils
• 4 x coloured highlighters
• 1 x white board pen
• 1 x green pen 

Recommended Items:

• Coloured pencils
• Rubber
• Pencil sharpener

On Tuesday 2nd September you were emailed a letter which details how to sign up to our Payment Parent Portal 'Parent Pay'.

You will also recieve this by post.

On Year 7 first day, Friday 5th September, all students will receive a free school meal if they wish. They may of course bring a packed lunch if they prefer. Please ensure your daughter has funds in the Parent Pay account if she wishes to purchase anything from our school canteen from Monday 8th September 2025.

Please note we are a cashless school and do no accept cash on site.

If students wish to purchase food from our canteens, parents/carers must have added payment to their account. Students will have their biometric finger print taken on Friday 5th September.

At morning break we have the following items on sale:

• Croissants  50p
• Pizza slices made with homemade tomato sauce and cheese 50p
• Bacon Rolls £1.10
• Sauage Rolls £1.00
• Wraps , Rolls made to order from £1.00
• Bread rolls 30p
• Butter, Jams, Sauces 10p
• Drinks from 50p 

At lunch time we have a weekly menu (please click here for the current menu) alongwith subways, jacket potatoes and pasta with a variety of toppings/fillings.
