Mobile Phones

Students are permitted to keep mobile phones in their possession but must they be switched off and kept in their bags at all times. Any phone seen at any time on the Academies’ site will be confiscated and parents/carers informed.  The rule is ‘never seen, never heard’.

  • Mobile phone use including the use of iPod and headphones is prohibited throughout the Academies
  • Responsibility for the safekeeping of the phone belongs to the student
  • Our Academies operate an electronic device free site – at all times
  • Failure to submit a phone when asked will result in the student being placed into inclusion and possibly excluded for a fixed period of time until parents/carers are met with by the relevant member of staff
  • Confiscated devices will be taken to the inclusion office and students will be able to have the phone at the end of the Academy day
  • 1st infringement – student can collect at the end of the Academy day
  • 2nd infringement – parents contacted and must collect on the student’s behalf
  • 3rd infringement – parents contacted and must collect the phone; student must hand in the phone at the beginning of every day
